EMDR COURSES

ABOUT

ABOUT ME

MY APPROACH

I am a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker in private practice based out of Denver, CO. My practice encompasses psychotherapy, EMDR therapy intensives, clinical supervision, and consultation. I specialize in treating trauma/PTSD and employ EMDR, psychodynamic, and sandtray therapies. My passion lies in working with adults who have experienced childhood abuse, neglect, and emotional non-recognition.

I am dedicated to using a person-centered and culturally-informed framework, considering how the environment, society, and culture influence personal development and well-being. This involves addressing the impact of racism, sexism, and heteronormativity on mental and physical health.

With EMDR, I will provide support on how to implement the standard protocol. I can also assist with how to conceptualize and treat complex cases when a more progressive approach is needed. I take a relational approach to EMDR and am informed by ego state theory, somatic psychology, and structural dissociation.

I collaborate with both clinicians and clients to create a secure environment for emotional growth, promoting an internal sense of freedom. In addition to private practice, I have clinical experience in community/agency settings working with children and adults who have experienced sexual abuse, sexual assault, physical abuse, and/or domestic violence.

CONSULTANT INFORMATION

I am an EMDR approved consultant through Evergreen Certifications. I provide individual and group consultation and am specialized in the areas of childhood abuse and neglect, as well as how to integrate parts work, somatic, and psychodynamic approaches for trauma and complex PTSD.

I decided to partner with PESI, which resulted in me being asked to let go of my consultant status and certification with EMDRIA. I worked alongside other EMDR clinicians to level up PESI's training so it would be equivalent to the training I received as well as others available. I appreciate PESI's dedication to offering quality, accessible, and affordable training for mental health clinicians. Therefore, if you are to pursue EMDR certification or consultant status, it will be through PESI's partner, Evergreen Certifications

In a consultation setting, I have been described as knowledgeable, warm, and responsive. I am committed to bringing the less tangible aspects of psychotherapy into discussion when providing EMDR that shows up in the form of transference and countertransference. This involves examining potentially intense feelings towards the client to deepen one's understanding of the client's experience and what is being left unsaid.

My mentor is Arielle Schwartz, PhD. I am heavily influenced by the works of Jim Knipe, Robin Shapiro, Dolores Mosquera, and Janina Fisher.
